Technical Support Overview

Engineering plastic semi-finished products require strict internal parameter control and repeatable production protocols. This portal supplies procurement managers, CNC machining centers, and mechanical design engineers with verified material properties, processing guidelines, and regulatory data for UHMWPE, HDPE, POM, Nylon, and PP sheets and rods.

Product Selection Support

Matching polymer grades to operating environments prevents premature mechanical failure.

Processing Guide
Cutting & Machining
Tooling Geometry: Carbide-tipped tools with positive rake angles (15 degrees to 20 degrees) and clearance angles (5 degrees to 15 degrees).
Cutting Parameters: Cutting speeds at 300 - 800 m/min for turning and milling. Apply compressed air or water-miscible coolants to prevent thermal softening.
Sawing Operations: Panel saws and band saws with tooth pitches of 4 to 8 mm.
Printing & Surface Treatment
Surface Activation: Elevate surface tension to a minimum of 38 - 42 dynes/cm using electrical corona discharge or gas flame treatment prior to printing or bonding.
Priming Agents: Apply specialized polyolefin-based primers to activate bonding sites for secondary adhesives.
Bonding & Installation
Mechanical Fastening: Pre-drill clearance holes 2 to 3 mm larger than fastener shanks to accommodate thermal expansion (1 x 10^-4 K^-1 for UHMWPE). Countersink heads flush with the sheet face.
Welding Procedures: Execute extrusion or hot-gas welding on HDPE and PP using identical virgin resin filler rods at melt temperatures between 210°C and 230°C.

Storage & Handling

Horizontal Stacking:

Store flat sheets horizontally on rigid pallets. Limit stack height to 1.5 m.

Climate Control:

Maintain facility temperatures between 10°C and 30°C with relative humidity below 65%. Protect from direct UV exposure.

Workshop Acclimatization:

Condition semi-finished stock in the machining environment for at least 24 hours prior to CNC processing.

Technical FAQ

Q: How do you eliminate warpage when performing deep pocket milling on UHMWPE sheets?

A: Warping results from locked-in internal stresses generated during compression molding. We utilize compression-molded sheets subjected to controlled multi-stage thermal annealing. During machining, use balanced roughing passes, remove stock symmetrically from both faces, and avoid excessive clamping pressure.

Q: What are the performance differences between cast nylon (PA6C) and extruded nylon (PA6)?

A: Cast nylon possesses a higher molecular weight and increased crystallinity, yielding superior wear resistance, reduced moisture absorption, and higher load-bearing capacity for large-format parts. Extruded nylon provides tighter initial dimensional tolerances and higher tensile strength in thinner cross-sections.

Q: Do your engineering plastics carry food contact regulatory compliance?

A: Yes. Virgin-grade UHMWPE, HDPE, and POM formulations comply with FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 and EU Regulation 10/2011 guidelines for direct contact with foodstuffs.
